Many will first visit Park City, Utah and may even purchase a second home simply because it is a world class resort community. It is indeed a coup that we have two world-class ski resorts located here in our town! We also can’t deny that a location less than 30 minutes from the airport is a huge draw when comparing ourselves to other resort towns in North America. And the weather? In the winter, it seems as if we either have a beautiful sunny day or it’s dumping perfect powder, known as the best snow on earth! Summer temperatures are usually in the mid 80’s and we have very few pesky insects.

These are all positive motivators for purchasing a property here, but when you move in and get settled, you begin to uncover all of the subtle things that separate our city from others, especially the lifestyle! Our Park City public school system is remarkable by even the toughest standards, as it offers dual immersion programs in two different languages. Looking for an extracurricular activity? Hiking and mountain biking trails are recognized by International Mountain Biking Association’s Gold Award due to the miles of endless single tracks, and multiple levels of terrain offered (first City to receive the designation). Snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and skate skiing are all available with well over 70k of groomed Nordic ski trails, a large portion available free of charge! For those animal enthusiasts, where else can you live where deer and elk are part of the landscape and moose may be seen walking down the street?

Which brings me to the essence of Park City and the most significant reason for making it your home….the culture and the people! It is a happy, peaceful, well-rounded community of educated, athletic, open minded individuals! Drivers are courteous and civil, as you don’t know if that is your neighbor driving a little slowly today. Walking into the grocery store or strolling down Main Street, you will be greeted with eye contact and a smile. A request for directions or a recommendation will be answered with earnestness to share our amazing town and its culture with all who visit. It is no surprise that many of my clients have purchased condos or single family homes for recreational use, but have to upscale to a larger, more permanent residence when they decide to call Park City “home”.
